Anonymous screening

What does it mean anonymity?

Our physicians at the station of Anonymous AIDS Association investigate you regardless of your gender, nationality, sexual nature, any kind of deseases, abuse of drugs if you claim to. We answer your questions. We make HIV screening test without your name or any personal data. We are able to screen Hepatitis and Syphilis since December of 2000.

There is double security: we use code-word instead of your name and a personal bar-code, so it can't happen to confuse your data with others.

We save your anonymity in every case!

What does it happen during investigation?

First meeting

The aim of the first meeeting we estimate your risk of HIV positivity. Our professionals need your cooperation for it, of course. We do test by vene punction, if there is a need and you claim.

You needn't give your name nor any of your personal data for this test - our staff do not even ask you.

Test

We make the vein punction with disposeable needles and accessories only. We don't sterilize or re-use devices.

The blood samples are tested by our co-workers in special laboratories with high-quality and up-to-date equipments and reagents.

Thes sample is stored in a disposeable vacuum tube, with a unique bar-code on it.

We store all data in encoded and one can access with password only. You could know your results by on another face-to-face meeting only.

If the result is negative

If the result of test is negative, you are free from HIV virus. In this case - and if you claim - our professional will inform you what to in order to save your negativity.

If the result is positive

If the result is positive, you should consier it as a strong suspicion to be infected with HIV. In this case there is a need to verify the first result by a confirmation test. It needs because there is a rare possibility for false-positive results. They could appear in case of coexistance of other virus from HIV family or any other diseas presented at the same time.

So in case of a positive screening test there is a need for further investigations. We do not diagnose HIV infection nor AIDS - this is the task for special hospital only.

To confirm and diagnose HIV positivity is a result of long lasting procedures in order to exclude false-positivity. This is responsibility of Szent László Hospital, Budapest.

Warning! Positive test result does not mean HIV positivity, only the suspicion of it!

Your name - your right to therapy!

If a positive result is confirmed it should be started certain investigations and the special antiretroviral therapy. These reimbursed procedures could be done in the special hospital Szent László only. In this case you should cancel your anonymity in order to have advantage of the therapy. Anyway, the doctors and nurses shall keep the secrecy rules in every time.

Only by a professional signed result counts to be valid.
The result is for personal use only.
You can't use the result of screening test as an official certificate.
If you need an official certificate (for job, immigration, artificial insemination etc.) of your HIV negativity you have to ask it in an authorized laboratory.
